Bio: Nikhil Newman Anand, class of 2023, is a right handed pitcher out of Berkeley High School in Berkeley, California. Utilizing a four pitch mix, Nikhil stymied opposing hitters during his sophomore season, finishing with a 1.50 earned run average. Nikhil relies primarily on his mid to high-70s fastball with arm-side run to produce weak contact and his slider, which helped him punch out 34 batters while only allowing 15 walks. He is working hard to refine his split-finger fastball and 12-6 curveball to round out his repertoire. Off the mound he is an excellent student, earning a 3.8 GPA and volunteering his time at the Berkeley Food Pantry. He hopes to continue his academic and athletic career at a four-year university.
